`Actually.... Myths about vampires go ALOT further back then that. We just don't have actual names of specific characters until the 17th or early 18th century, where those two fellas are names, along with some dude names Arnold, from the same general area. Those three names launched the slavic versions of vampire myth into the eyes and ears of more western parts of europe, though it took a full century until it got very popular in most of northern european society, and landed in the early usa during the puritan era onm the eastern coast and just inland of there.
and as any common sence would show; these guys where just corpses getting blamed for plauge etc in the area. People who like blood have always been around, though, but these dudes were just plain out dead. sorry.
